DENVER, Sep 13, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Western Union Company, a worldwide leader in money transfer services, today announced that Gary Kohn, CPA has been appointed vice president, Investor Relations. Kohn will lead Western Union's Investor Relations activities as it completes a planned spin-off from parent company First Data Corp. Kohn previously served as vice president, Investor Relations, for First Data.

Kohn joined First Data in 2000 as director of financial planning and analysis. He assumed the position of Director, Investor Relations with First Data in 2001. Prior to joining First Data, Kohn spent several years in tax and audit practice and mortgage banking. In addition, Kohn served for three years as manager of financial planning and analysis for The Thomson Corporation.
Kohn is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute as well as The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kohn graduated in 1988 from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He resides in Metro Denver with his wife and two children.
